Achim is on the road. Starting in March, Achim Mentzel will be criss-crossing the MDR broadcast area, travelling in his funky mobile home through the beautiful landscapes of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia. He will visit the usual places of interest as well as out of the way oddities: the porcelain manufacture in Meissen along with the only dumpling museum in Germany. He’ll tour the Moritzburg, the most beautiful moated castle in Saxony, and take us to the most northern vineyards of Germany: along the beautiful river Saale where you not only can “discover” castles and palaces, but also delicious wine. But that’s not all – Achim’s unusual car has a great contraption in its trunk: wherever he goes, he can make a complete kitchen appear in no time, so that the Saxon vintner can serve his favorite recipes with his wine, making sure that on Achim’s excursions creature comforts won’t get short-changed.
