Mysterious dog mummies
The animal sacrifice ritual is one of the unsolved mysteries of ancient Egypt. The German scientist Mélanie Flossmann-Schütze is researching the underground animal cemetery of Tuna el-Gebel, where hundreds of thousands of embalmed animals are stored. These sacrificial rituals are among the last secrets of ancient Egypt. The archaeologist collects circumstantial evidence of a gigantic fraud perpetrated by the ancient priests on the faithful. X-ray examinations prove the existence of many “false” mummies containing only individual animal body parts or cloth.
