Their moods swing from extreme happiness to the depths of despair. Children in puberty are torn between stuffed animals and slamming doors. The rate at which each pubescent teenager goes through his or her development is just as individual and varied. When some boys are starting to shave, others are still playing with toy cars. Some girls are thinking about birth control at an age when others still cannot decide between chocolate or vanilla. We accompanied six children on their exciting, beautiful, and often also painful path through puberty for two years. Childhood’s End is about great changes, emotional chaos, and the completely normal insanity of being a teenager.
